Glossary of customs terms
This certificate is issued and authenticated by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. They then carry out a verification of the information and impose a compliance visa. The certificate of origin is therefore a customs document that certifies the origin of a good, more precisely, its country of manufacture. It is thanks to this document that the goods are accepted in the country of destination and are subject to a rate of customs duty. It is mainly used for customs clearance of goods. Some countries, such as the United States, do not require it; however the local buyer can make an express request. Finally, it is part of the constituent parts of the documentary credit file.
